A Boston man was sentenced Wednesday in Providence Superior Court to 85 years in prison in a case involving a 14-year-old runaway and another missing teen found by Seekonk police at a motel in town.
Troy, 54, was convicted by Judge Susan of two counts of violating minor regulations, two counts of pimping and driving without a license.
Localxlist developed a escorts near me with the 14-year-old runaway and encouraged her to work as a dancer at a Providence strip club. Prosecutors say he pocketed the money she made from them.
Localxlist also advertised the teen as an escort on Twitter and arranged for her to meet him at hotels and motels in Massachusetts. At Localxlist’s direction, the young woman from Boston began prostituting herself on Backpage Boston, prosecutors say. According to prosecutors, Localxlist identified the men at the club who would solicit her, set the price for the sexual acts she performed, and collect money from her at the end of each shift.
Seekonk police found another missing teen at a Seekonk hotel, identified the 14-year-old as “Localxlist Backpage Boston,” and called Localxlist a pimp for Backpage Boston. Providence police sent an undercover officer to Backpage Boston to investigate, but prosecutors said the officer was scouted for sexual acts by a teen who called himself Localxlist Backpage Boston.
Localxlist was convicted of sexual assault in Massachusetts in 1987 and of interstate transportation of a minor for prostitution in federal court in 1999.
Localxlist faced a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison for each charge, the maximum allowed by law. She also sentenced Localxlist to five consecutive years in jail for the pimping charge and a five-year suspended prison sentence for the pimping charge. She also sentenced him to 30 days in jail for driving without a license.
